On November 17, 2020, Etna Borough Council adopted Ordinance No. 1384, the Etna Borough Non-Discrimination Ordinance, becoming the 61st municipality in PA to do so. This ordinance establishes the Etna Human Relations Commission. This ordinance prohibits discrimination in housing, commercial property, employment and public accommodations based upon actual or perceived race, color, national origin, ancestry, religious creed, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, veteran’s status, marital status, familial status, genetic information, handicap or disability. It addresses the assistance animal, provides definitions and establishes penalties. The Commission also promotes understanding, respect and cooperation among all racial, cultural, religious, ethnic, nationality and other groups within the Borough. They will also conduct educational programs for furtherance of the improvement of human relations in the Borough as well as other civic acts. We thank all of the residents who expressed their desire to serve their community.
Commission Members
HRC members are volunteers from the Etna community who are committed to promoting equity, justice, and community building in the Borough. Commission members are appointed to 3 year terms by the Etna Borough Council. The Commission also encourages community members to attend our regular, quarterly meetings. We also welcome volunteers who are interested in helping us develop educational resources and participating in community events!

Maura Bainbridge
Maura Bainbridge (she/her) has lived in Etna since 2021 and been a member of the HRC since 2025. She’s active in the Garden of Etna and works for a youth arts organization. In her spare time, she makes quilts and other fiber art projects.

Lindsay Huff
Lindsay Huff (she/her) grew up in O’Hara Township and has been an Etna resident since 2013. Her first memory of the borough is of seeing the SEASONS GREETINGS ETNA, PA sign from the backseat of the family car while running holiday errands!
Lindsay lives with her family and four cats (all former Etna strays), and enjoys biking, music making, any time spent in nature, community building, and exploring the neighborhood with her daughter, Iva.

Brice Everett Lynn
Brice Lynn (he/him) is a born-and-raised Pittsburgher and has lived in Etna since 2019. Having been welcomed by the Etna community, he joined HRC in 2022 and currently serves as the chair person. With experience in higher education, global education, and technology project management, he hopes that his time with the HRC with not only provide support to those experiencing discrimination but also guide the Commission in creating events and educational materials that help Etna continue to a be a place where everyone belongs.
